Recommendation for As Time Goes By by Lori Wick

Recommendation for As Time Goes By by Lori Wick

As Time Goes By is written by Lori Wick. All though this is my first time reading it I recommend it to anyone who loves to read and will read anything. You can find this book at the Oshkosh Public Library on the second floor. As Time Goes By is about a girl named Bobbie who has an embarrassing moment at a picnic and one of her friends made fun of her for it. Bobbie then left town for five years. Her friends name is Jeff and Jeff wanted to apologize to Bobbie for what he had done, but never got a chance. After five years Bobbie decided to return to Santa Rosa. When Jeff heard that Bobbie was returning he was very shocked. Can the friendship between Bobbie and Jeff be restored even after what had happened five years ago? Read the book to find out the rest! Here are some questions for you. What would you have done if that was you in Bobbie's place? If you were in Bobbie's place would you ever forgive your friend? How would you have dealt with it? I recommend this book because it is very interesting and fun to read. Once you start reading it you can't stop! As Time Goes By by Lori Wick has a total of 44 chapters. I rate this book 5 stars because of how interesting and fun to read it is. Remember to check it out at the Oshkosh Public Library and read it!

Recommendation For Hitler's Daughter By Jackie French

Recommendation For Hitler's Daughter by Jackie French

Hitler's Daughter is by Jackie French. All though I just started reading the book I recommend it to anyone who likes Holocaust books. Hitler's Daughter is about a girl named Anna and her 3 friends who play story telling games while waiting for the school bus to show up. Anna and her friends all live in Australia. One day Anna tells a story about a girl not a mermaid, horse or fairy, but a girl. A girl named Heidi Who lived during the world war 2 time and her dad was Hitler. The evil Hitler. As Anna tells little parts of the story each day the story starts to unfold. Anna and her 3 friends start to think what it would be like for them to be Hitler's daughter knowing that Hitler was an evil man and if they would have the power to stop Hitler. Here are some questions for you. What would you do if you were in Heidi's place of being Hitler's daughter knowing your dad was an evil man leading the world into into a war that destroyed lots of innocent people's lives? How would you react? Would you have the power and determination to stop him? How would you stop him? I recommend this book because it is very interesting and fun to read! Hitler's Daughter by Jackie French has only 17 chapters! Every chapter will leave you longing for more and more! I rate this book 5 stars because f how interesting and fun to read it is! Recommendation for Number The Stars by Lois Lowry

Recommendation for Number The Stars by Lois Lowry

I recommend Number The Stars to anyone who loves to learn about the Holocaust and to anyone who has read any other Holocaust books and loved them. Number The Stars is about 2 girls one Jewish and one German living during the Holocaust. One day the police come and find Ellen, but Annmarie's dad makes up a lie to tell saying that Ellen is their daughter Lise and the police fell for it. Annemarie's uncle Henrick take the Rosens to safety, but they forget something so Annemarie had to take it to them. Read Number The Stars by Lois Lowry to find out what happens to Annemarie on her adventure throughout the book and about how she reacts to what is going on around her. Number The Stars by Lois Lowry is a very good and interesting book to read. The reason why i recommend Number The Stars by Lois Lowry is because i loved the book a lot and it always left me wondering what was going to happen in the next chapter! Number The Stars is a great book to read and it will make you want to read the book a million times over!

The Boy In The Striped Pajamas Summary

One day Bruno came home and found Maria, the maid, packing up his stuff. She was packing because father had got a new job offer and they had to move. The new house they moved to was a little smaller than the old one. The new house had 3 stories,3 bedrooms, and 1 bathroom. It was still a nice house that he called the “Out-with”. Bruno thought that they should have kept his sister,Gretel,at the old house because she was being really annoying. When Bruno got to his room he looked out the window and off in the distance he saw men and boys in striped clothing walking to a fence. Later that night he had to talk to his father about what he had saw. His father told him to not worry about it. A few days after that Bruno was staring at the ceiling, looked out the window and saw a figure sitting at the other side of the fence.

Bruno hasn't seen his grandparents since he moved to the Out-with. He had written a letter saying how he wishes he could be back in Berlin.Bruno noticed that the people on the other side were wearing striped pajamas Bruno found out their was a boy that shoveled on the other side of the fence. The boys name was Shmuel.  Bruno and Shmuel found out that they were the same age and had the same birthday. They also looked a lot alike. Surprisingly the two boys were a lot alike.

When Bruno's mom is setting up for his father's birthday party Bruno gets to deal with Lieutenant Kotler. After Bruno finally gets away from Lieutenant Kotler Bruno goes into the kitchen to find Shmuel washing washing dishes, Bruno asks why Shumel is there and offers him food, but Shumel turns the food down afraid that Lieutenant kotler will come back and catch him. After the party Bruno goes and talks to Gretel, while Bruno is talking she discovers lice in her hair. Disgusted Bruno’s mother and said that it was the houses fault the kids got lice. With all the fury in mother she makes the decision to take  the kids back to Berlin. At first Bruno was happy he was going back to Berlin, then he remember Shumel.

When Bruno visits Shmuel he finds out Shmuel's dad went missing without a trace an Shmuel went looking for him. Bruno makes a daring plan to under the fence and help Shmuel look for his dad. On the day Bruno goes back to Berlin, Bruno goes to visit Shmuel. Shmuel gives Bruno some clothes and tell him to roll in the mud so he can look natural. While the two boys are looking a horn blows. When Bruno asks Shmuel what’s going on he responds that a march is happening that is where people never come back . After that the two boys were never heard from again.

If the book continued on for 3 more days Bruno's mom and Gretel will go back to Out-With and search for Bruno. Bruno's mom will find out what happened to Bruno and have a hard time moving on with the thought of what happened to Bruno. Gretel will become less annoying and more nice. I thought The Boy In The Striped Pajamas was very interesting and taught a lot about the holocaust. I thought it was very interesting when Bruno met Shmuel for for the first time and found out that they were both born on the same month, same day, and same year. I also thought it was interesting when Shmuel got forced to go to Bruno's house and clean and polish the dishes.
